The company name "MONEX" was created in the same manner in 1999: the "Y" in "MONEY" was shifted one letter to "X," in expression of the company's aim to "design a next-generation framework to deal with money and provide it to customers-to create the "MONEY'' of the future. Monex Finance Corporation is founded in March 2017 to finance the group companies in Monex Group, Inc. In order to issue our corporate bonds in Euromarkets, we establish Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) program that is listed on the Singapore Exchange in September 2017. Our corporate bonds are distributed primarily to retail investors, for example “Monex Bonds” that Monex, Inc. acts as an “Uridashi” distributor, Secondary Distribution. Furthermore, Monex Group, Inc. guarantees our corporate bonds issued by EMTN which earns the same rating as Monex, Inc. does. The financial capital is lent to the group companies as a part of business capital.

Capitalizing on Monex Group’s extensive network, Monex Ventures, Inc. makes investments in start-ups in Japan and overseas in their seed or early stages. Its underlying philosophy is to help entrepreneurs who bring disruption among traditional industries through the use of internet, especially through FinTech, thereby making a significant impact on an individual’s life style. Based on this, Monex Group strives to listen to objective and diverse opinions through the ongoing appointment of outside and independent directors since its establishment in 2004 and the active promotion of information disclosure to create a system that enables balanced management decision-making while effectively monitoring management execution. In June 2013, Monex Group adopted a structure called company with committees (currently, company with committees, such as the Nominating Committee and others) to reinforce corporate governance by further separating management and oversight. In addition, since April 2015, we have selected a lead independent director from among the outside directors.
